Have you heard the acronym “STEM” before? It’s popping up all over social networking and in high-tech industries. It stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math—these four areas are still underrepresented by women throughout the nation.

Organizations and nonprofits are working to change that, however, offering training and mentoring programs to girls and young women who might be interested in one of these fields, with a little exposure. In fact, Ford recently partnered with one of these organizations in Palo Alto, California called “Girls Who Code.”

Most of us regularly schedule doctors' appointments, take vitamins and make sure we exercise regularly in order to keep ourselves fit and healthy. Why not put the same kind of effort into our vehicles? Regularly maintaining our cars can keep them running smoothly for years to come. Who doesn't want that?
